HAPPY 4TH ANNIVERSARY TO JOHN AND DEBBIE

What a great day it was 4 years ago. Clear and sunny, though chilly, for such an exciting event. Today I got to talk with John, who is in port, and have coffee with Debbie. I know they wish they could be together, but each is doing well and busy with interesting and exciting plans.

I look at these latest pictures of Baby Peterson and am overwhelmed at God's creativity, and to be able to observe the growth and development is amazing. To think this baby fits in the palm of your hand, that it has all his/her organs and features in place and just needs time. I offer up a prayer for this precious bit of forever, that it would be safe, that Elisabeth would be healthy and that peace and love would reign in this family.

O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know it all. You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? . . .

Your hand will lay hold of me. It I say, "Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, and the light around me will be night," Even the darkness is not dark to You, and the night is as bright as the day. . .

For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. . .

How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would out number the sand. When I awake, I am still with You. . .

Psalms 139

Debbie and I had a wonderful morning looking at a cute dog shop and a wonderful Japanese Antique Gallery in Portland - Shoguns Gallery on NW 23rd Ave. We both saw some great pieces and the owner was very knowledgeable. Many of the pieces has been lightly restored to really bring out the beauty of the piece without overdoing it. Now we are trying to decide which piece we want. After shopping we had lunch with Grandma. Grandma enjoyed having Debbie "to herself" for that time. She expresses over and over what a blessing the two newest family members are to her.

Happy Valentines Day! This post is especially for Elisabeth as she if a fan of Winnie the Pooh and all his friends. It was animated when I copied it off the web, so imagine Piglet bounding across the grass. I substituted yesterday and we had a wonderful party with my first grade class. Valentines day is always such a special day. I remember when John, Elisabeth, Laura and David were in grade school, they loved making and receiving cards from all their classmates. Carl and I went out to dinner tonight with some other faculty families and had lots of fun.

Well life has slowed down at 706. My sub job is over, though I will go back on Friday for the Valentines Party, Debbie has returned from the far corners of the world and she said that we could not keep Pabu. I will miss the 5:30am wake up call. The sound of little feet on the wood floor and the soft whine are much more pleasant than the blaring alarm. So back to the routine.
Tuesday night class, PRC, and lunch and bingo with grandma on Thursday.

This is Pabu's new best friend. His name is Klause. They are pretty cute together. We had a great birthday party for Bob and Anne today with almost all the Lilly's and Laneys, but forgot to get a picture. Does that tell you something about who we really think is the cutest?
